Le Kemenat-Guégant, the Command of Guégant, was the original Breton name of
Guémené-sur-Scorff.
When the Guégant family had long been superceded and the domain had passed
to the Baumer, and then the Rohan family, the name became frenchified first
to Le Guémené, then Guémené, and much more recently, to Guémené-sur-Scorff.
