Bale of barley straw

Bale of barley straw,
When I lived in Wales I had a pond in my garden, but one year there was a lot of algae.
The solution, I heard, was to put barley straw on the water.
Some friends kindly brought a little bag of barley straw, all the way from Norfolk.
Then I mentioned this to my neighbour, who told me that his Dutch barn, just a few yards away from my property , was full of barley straw, and that I could help myself!
But well done, the friends who imported barley straw for me!
