This year the fire was not lit from the flame from the candle of the angel on
its third descent (well, it never is, of course, as it would defy the laws
of physics for a lit candle to remain lit, but it's meant to work that way,
surreptitious cigarette lighter produced by a priest notwithstanding ... and
not including possible miracles of course).
No, it was already alight by the second descent.
How? Who knows?
Did anyone seem perturbed?
